Top 10 Golf Courses in Ireland

Posted on: 08 June, 2011 - Category: Ireland Hotel by:

Slieve Russel (Cavan)

The Slieve Russel Golf Course is found among the lakeland and drumlin valley district of Ballyconnell in County Cavan.

It’s one of the more “newer” golf courses on this list as it opened in August 1992 and almost immediately it became an attraction as one of Ireland’s top courses.

The parkland course was brilliantly designer by golf-course architect Patrick Merrigan and contains 300 acres of manicured gardens and 50 acres of lakes, so as you can imagine, water hazards are a major challenge on this course.

Camping In Ireland

Posted on: 07 June, 2011 - Category: Ireland Hotel by:

If a hotel is not for you, if you scorn the very idea of sleeping in a bed under a roof and prefer to get back to basics, camping out under the stars on the rolling hills, in the midst of a forest or in some other remote spot, far from all forms of civilisation, then Ireland has plenty of opportunities for you. Or, if you would rather rough it in luxury, hooking up to hot water and staying near all modern conveniences, Ireland can offer you that sort of camping, too! It all depends on what you’re looking for.

Irish Hotel Prices Still Falling Despite Global Rates Stabilizing

Posted on: 04 June, 2011 - Category: Ireland Hotel by:

According to the Hotels.com Hotel Price Index, the price of Irish hotel rooms fell an additional 4% in the first six months of 2010. This is in addition to the massive drop of 21% experienced in 2009. While the fall of 4% in 2010 shows a vast improvement in the outlook compared to 2009, it lags behind the global recovery with global hotel prices actually increasing by 2% in the first half of 2010.

This should not come as too much of a shock to any of us as the Irish economy as a whole is recovering slower than many of our international counterparts.
